Homeowners Insurance

Get a Home Quote For most people a home is their single biggest investment. Here’s how you can get the best insurance to protect it.

It takes two people to get the best homeowners insurance coverage. You and your Agent. The options you choose and the information you provide will have a direct impact on your insurance.

Here are a few things to think about and discuss with your agent:

  • Your insurance company's level of service and record of paying claims.
  • Discounts for insuring your cars and home with one company.
  • Lowering premiums with higher deductibles.
  • Determining accurate costs to rebuild your house and replace your belongings.
  • Saving money with a monitored security system and fire resistance features.

When you buy home insurance you should know what you’re getting. Here are some explanations of common insurance coverage terms.

HomeProtect Your Home:

Property or Dwelling. This typically pays to repair or rebuild your home if it’s damaged or destroyed by an insured event like a kitchen fire or windstorm.

Protect yourself and others:

Personal Liability. This applies if someone is injured or property is damaged and you are to blame.

Medical. This covers medical expenses for guests if they are injured on your property, and in certain cases covers people who are injured off of your property.

Additional Living Expenses. If you can’t live in your home because of a covered loss, most insurance companies will pay additional living expenses while your home is repaired or rebuilt.

Protect your belongings:

Personal Property. Your home is filled with furniture, clothes, sports equipment and other items that mean a lot to you. This coverage helps replace these items if they are lost, stolen or destroyed as a result of a covered loss.

Scheduled Personal Property. If you have special possessions such as jewelry, art, antiques or collectibles you should talk to your agent about this additional coverage.
